Grocery Supply Chain Automation
Solvoyo is supply chain decision automation for grocery and FMCG retailers. Its demand models read weather, events and store-level patterns, then place store and DC orders and plan the trucks that carry them, weighing waste against availability in one calculation. Promotions and pricing run on the same plan, so the numbers agree from shelf to DC.
Studenac Market reached 8x planner productivity, 81% user acceptance and 55% fewer lost sales across 1,000+ locations, as the Studenac case study shows.

Demand Sensing for Perishables
Short-life categories like produce, deli, bakery and prepared foods are forecast at store-day and intraday granularity by Solvoyo’s demand planning. Grocers match supply to actual demand patterns before the product spoils.
Lost Sales Estimation
Solvoyo estimates lost sales by reading sales data against store-level inventory. It identifies when an out-of-stock suppressed demand and counts the units customers would have bought if the shelf had been full. That recovered demand goes back into the forecast, so the baseline reflects the demand customers had, including the sales an empty shelf hid. This breaks a loop where a stockout teaches the model to under-order the item that ran out, and the item then stocks out again.
Store-Level Inventory Prediction for Fresh & Loose Items
For fresh and loose items, the recorded store inventory rarely matches what is on the shelf. Produce sold by weight, spoilage, shrink and in-store sampling all erode the record between counts, so replenishment runs on a number that is already wrong. Solvoyo predicts true sellable inventory at the store-item level. It combines deliveries, sales, shelf-life and historical shrink patterns into a continuously updated estimate of what is available to sell. With an accurate on-hand position, ordering and waste decisions match the shelf. That removes a double penalty: inflated records suppress orders into stockouts while unrecorded spoilage drives waste.
Dynamic Safety Stock Adjustment
Safety stock is set dynamically to hit the service-level target you choose. It is recalculated as demand and supply conditions shift, where fixed min/max levels go stale the moment they are entered. Each buffer is sized to the volatility it has to absorb: the more variable a SKU’s demand and the less reliable a supplier’s OTIF, the more cover it gets, and the more predictable the flow, the leaner it runs. Availability holds at target without the blanket overstock that fixed thresholds force across every item, and working capital sits where variability demands it.
Automated Replenishment
Store and DC orders are generated automatically from live demand signals, upcoming promotions and shelf-life constraints. The inventory optimization works to a service-level target and simulates the trade-off between waste and lost sales before any order is placed, so you know whether cutting waste costs you availability. Orders need no spreadsheet and no manual approval.
Waste Prediction & Reduction
Perishable waste is predicted at the batch level across the full planning horizon. For each production or receipt batch, Solvoyo projects how much will go unsold before its expiry date, given forecasted demand, current inventory age and remaining shelf life. From that forecast it generates batch-level dispatch recommendations using FEFO logic, which sequence which batches ship from the DC to which stores first so the stock closest to expiry reaches the locations that can sell it through in time. Markdowns are then timed store by store to recover value on the units still at risk. This replaces reactive end-of-day write-offs with a continuously optimized plan that prevents waste before it happens.
Promotion & Price Intelligence
AI-powered promotion planning and list price management run against live demand signals. The models account for halo effects, cannibalization and pantry-loading behavior, which gives full visibility into the net impact of each promotion on sales volume, revenue and profitability. Every decision has a complete audit trail across every banner, so promotional strategy is grounded in true incrementality.
Concurrent Replenishment & Transportation Planning
Replenishment and transportation are planned together in a single optimization, so the order that is right for the shelf is also the order that fills the truck. Store and DC orders are shaped with load building, truck capacity, delivery frequency and routing solved concurrently. That balances on-shelf availability against freight cost in the same decision. Trucks run fuller, with fewer under-utilized runs and a lower cost-to-serve, so freight does not eat the margin that better ordering just recovered.
Solvi: From Insights Into Actions
Solvi, Solvoyo’s AI planning agent, continuously monitors demand signals, stock cover, waste levels and supplier OTIF performance across every store and category. It detects perishable stockout risks, excess inventory build-ups and promotional allocation imbalances before they turn into shrink, lost sales or margin write-offs. Solvi diagnoses the root cause behind each exception and quantifies the waste and lost sales cost of inaction at the store and SKU level. It then generates prioritized recommendations, from replenishment adjustments and markdown timing to promotional reallocation and supplier escalations, that grocery planners can review and execute directly within the platform.
Ordering on Autopilot
Solvoyo makes the daily order, transfer and markdown calls across every store and DC automatically. Your teams spend their day on the few exceptions and on category strategy.
One Plan, Shelf to DC
Demand, replenishment, promotions and pricing all run on a single data model from shelf to distribution center, so the numbers always agree. There are no exports and no end-of-week reconciliation.
Ready for Volatile Days
Model a heatwave, a holiday rush or a tourist-season surge and see how orders, stock and margin respond before you commit. Each demand swing gets a plan before it arrives.
Results Within a Season
Pre-built grocery templates and fast ERP integration bring leaner inventory, fewer stockouts and lower waste in the first months.
Quick Commerce and Dark Stores
Dark-store replenishment is part of Solvoyo’s e-commerce planning. AI demand models use real-time sales and inventory status. Products are segmented by dark store, so each store gets its own service level. Cross-dock allocation lowers the risk of a stockout at the moment stock is received.
For fresh products, İstegelsin, a Turkish rapid grocery delivery company with a network of dark stores, gained 14 points of availability with real-time fresh product automation.

Frequently Asked Questions
The hardest part is balancing waste against availability on perishables, across thousands of store-SKU combinations every day. Perishable demand is volatile and shelf lives are very short, and promotions add complexity on top. A small error in a replenishment quantity compounds into large shrink or lost sales. Planning tools that run weekly batches cannot keep pace with demand that moves hour by hour in a store.
Solvoyo forecasts demand at the store-day and intraday level. The forecast draws on weather signals, promotional calendars, local events and seasonal patterns, so it senses demand shifts before they hit availability. AI/ML models automatically pick the best forecasting method for each SKU, from stable everyday items to volatile perishable categories and short-lifecycle promotional products. Accuracy improves across the full assortment, including the items outside the high-velocity ones that get manual attention.
Solvoyo cuts perishable waste with three connected planning decisions. Store-day demand forecasts reduce over-ordering. Automated replenishment models the waste versus lost sales trade-off for each SKU. Shelf-life-based markdown recommendations, generated at the store level, recover value before spoilage. Blanket ordering and reactive write-off policies drive most grocery waste. Together, the three decisions replace them with a continuous, store-specific optimization loop.
Solvoyo plans promotional and in-and-out products in dedicated workflows. Each item gets a store-level demand forecast for its offer period, anchored on the performance of similar historic items. Allocation is automated against those forecasts and sends each store the right volume, based on predicted demand, capacity and minimum presentation requirements. Exit dates and stock positions are monitored continuously, and automated alerts trigger markdown or transfer recommendations before unsold inventory becomes shrink.
Solvoyo manages circular planning as a structured weekly workflow in a shared online environment, where category managers and central planners collaborate. They review promotional selections, quantities, pricing and budget allocations in a single process, without emails and spreadsheets. AI models evaluate each promotion for gross lift, cannibalization and pantry-loading effects. That shows the net impact on volume, revenue and profitability before budget is committed, and every campaign has a complete audit trail.
Solvoyo customers reach 95%+ automation on daily operational planning decisions, because planners trust the recommendations enough to accept and execute them. Those decisions include initial allocation, store replenishment, transfers and markdown optimization. Planners are left to manage exceptions and strategy.
Yes. Solvoyo works with businesses at every level of digital maturity, including teams that plan entirely in spreadsheets. In the Digitize step of our process, we run automated data diagnostics on your existing data, wherever it lives, to find gaps, inconsistencies and quality issues. Our AI then helps fill in missing data points and improve the quality of your input data, so you don’t need years of system cleanup before you start. That shortens the path from where you are today to fully autonomous, no-touch planning.
Solvoyo tracks how much of your stock is actually sellable, because on-hand numbers for perishables rarely tell the whole story. It works with batch-level data: each lot’s age, expiry date and remaining shelf life. On top of that, AI models learn from your historical data to estimate waste and spoilage rates by category or product type, so expected losses are factored in even where batch data is incomplete. That gives an accurate picture of true sellable inventory. You get fewer stockouts from overestimated availability and less write-off from overordering, and replenishment across your fresh and short-shelf-life assortment gets more accurate.
Solvoyo automates dark store replenishment with AI demand models that use real-time sales and inventory status. Products are segmented by dark store, so each store can run its own service level. Cross-dock allocation lowers the risk of a stockout at the moment stock is received.
