Sales and Operations Planning

Plan demand, inventory, supply, production and transportation using a single platform. Start harmonizing internal and external data without having to rip or replace your existing systems.

DEFINITION

Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) is a periodic multi-functional process and accompanying tools to adjust demand, inventory and supply at an aggregated level and maintain an integrated business plan to guide operations. Therefore, S&OP provides the guidelines for the operational execution of the enterprise-wide plan, also called sales and operations execution (S&OE).

What Can You Achieve With Solvoyo's S&OP Solution?

1. Eliminate Excel-based and error-prone reconciliation of your S&OP processes

Many companies still run their S&OP processes using Excel. Although it is ubiquitous, it is a bad idea to keep corporate memory in Excel. Excel also limits your analytics capabilities to turn plans into execution. With Solvoyo’s S&OP platform, you will experience Excel-like ease-of-use along with the advanced analytics capabilities for insights, what-if scenario analyses to evaluate the financial impact of your plan changes and the corporate memory to measure your performance effectively.

Solvoyo’s S&OP platform gives both the regions and the HQ the ability to maintain a supply plan harmonized with demand and inventory investment targets. We now identify supply plan discrepancies proactively. Along the way, we eliminated Excel from the process and simultaneously increased process speed and planner efficiency across the enterprise.

2. Harmonize enterprise data with external data to solidify your tactical demand plan

Most of the traditional planning software relies on enterprise data only, usually by creating data lakes and performing descriptive analyses only.

What about the external data? The external world is full of data too! In fact, complementing your planning process with careful analysis of the external data is what could give your business a competitive edge in today’s dynamic business world. With the help of our vast analytics toolbox, including advanced machine learning algorithms, we drive meaningful insights from external data such as competitor actions, benchmark prices, demographics data, weather and social media.

3. Make the most of the new AI/ML technologies with your existing IT investment

Solvoyo can integrate easily with your existing enterprise systems so that you don’t have to rip and replace your existing systems of record. Solvoyo integrates disparate datasets, including those from external sources, to find new correlations and causalities. Our data integration and interchange technologies include:

  • Web services, including custom APIs
  • Cloud integration platforms such as BOOMI
  • Direct DB to DB integration methods such as SSIS
  • SAP-specific integration methods such as RFC, PI and ABAP

4. Plan demand, inventory, supply and production using a single platform

Without a perfect sync across different supply chain functions, it is hard to talk about a perfectly optimized end-to-end supply chain. The power of our S&OP solution lies in our concurrent optimization method, which enables our customers to eliminate horizontal misalignment among demand, inventory, production, supply and transportation planning decisions. The same platform can be used for S&OE, the day-to-day refinement and execution of the plan.

Improved Business Outcomes

Using our S&OP platform, our customers experience immediate and measurable business value with us and have typically seen powerful results in 3-6 months.

4 Step End-to-End Analytics Journey

Solvoyo combines the best of supply chain planning and advanced analytics into one integrated platform. It is not a black box but rather a platform to provide views and insights on your end to end supply chain to drive timely and effective demand plans.

Step 1: Descriptive

"What Happened?"

Platform automates the data upload necessary for demand, supply, inventory and master data updates.

Step 2: Diagnostic

"Why Did It Happen?"

Automatically creates S&OP scenarios, necessary analytic results and calculates demand-supply discrepancies

Step 3: Predictive

"What Will Happen?"

The users from different business functions (sales, operations, supply chain, finance, marketing, etc.) perform what-if analyses (save, recall and compare scenarios) to see financial and service impact of plan changes.

Step 4: Prescriptive

"How Can We Make It Happen?"

The platform enables the multi-functional team to come up with a harmonized plan to guide the operations until the next S&OP meeting.
